Hi, my name is Virginia Schilling. I work as a sometime cataloger but mostly I do metadata clean-up in a legacy database management system. I blog in an attempt to force myself to stay current with the topics that interest me. Occasionally, it even works. My interests lie primarily in the Semantic Web and Linked Data realms (bleeding-edge cataloging and metadata! yay!) but I also dabble in digital preservation and a little information retrieval.

Thanks for posting the summary of Linked data next generation catalogs. I attended this session but could not take notes. This was my first introduction to Linked data and I had a hard time following the everyting. Your summary helped. Just in case you wondered, I’m the head of the Foreign Language Cataloguing Dept. at the National Library of Israel. We send our records to VIAF and Europeana and I really need to know more. Thanks again.
Hi Riny,
I’m glad it was useful! I just saw, yesterday, a summary of the afternoon session “Linking Data Across Libraries, Archives, and Museums”. I couldn’t attend that session but it sounds like it was interesting. I did attend the 8am FRBR session on Sunday and hopefully I will have my notes up about that soon.
